2- 3 Years
Children aged 2-3 years’ work with a staff ratio 1:4. The aim of the staff in the 2-3 room is to provide a high standard of care to aid the individual child’s learning and development. This is carried out using “Early Years Foundation Stage framework” (EYFS) The children enjoy a wide range of ‘messy’ creative activities including painting, printing, gluing, cutting and sticking, sand/water, dough/clay and cooking activities. The room becomes more advanced introducing pre-school activities, which includes colour/shape recognition, matching, counting and other mathematical activities. We also carry out pencil control activities such as joining the dots and tracing. This all helps to prepare the children for the move to the Pre-school room and the foundation stage.
Sleep time takes place in their playroom between 11.30 a.m – 1.30 p.m. Each child is provided with their own sleep mat and cover that is washed at the end of each child’s session.
